By associating with Amazon, Firthness receives, every quarter, a percentage return on all items sold through the site.  This percentage ranges from 15% to 2%, depending on the product, whether or not it is on sale, etc.

How will the money be spent?

The profits will be used to cover the costs of this site/quarter.  Any monies made above and beyond the site costs will be used to augment the funds spent on prizes for various contests.  Unless firthness exceeds its bandwidth, the monthly cost of the site will be fixed at $7.95 at present, with on once/year domain registration charge of $35.00.

How much does the site bring in through Amazon?

Over the past three quarters it has averaged out to about $35.00 per quarter.  

How do I ensure that a percentage of my purchases goes to firthness?

All of our specific product links are embedded with a code that tells Amazon that firthness is to receive a percentage.  As long as you use those links to make your purchases, we will be credited for the sale. 

A search box for Amazon (US) is also offered at the bottom of the store pages, any items bought using this search feature will also be credited to firthness.

In order to insure that the sale is credited to firthness, check that after the AISN/numbers/ your browser bar says "firthness-20" for orders through Amazon US and "firthness-21" for orders through Amazon UK - such as: 

 www.amazon.com/junk/AISN/0003303030/firthness-20

The firthness "ID" can also be added to orders made via a search - just erase everything after AISN/numbers/ and put in firthness-20 or firthness-21 for the UK.
